A robust wine with upfront aromas of blackberry, orange peel, cedarwood pencil shavings, and graphite. Firm, but fine-grained tannins give structure to the palate while flavors of sweet tobacco and cacao emerge. The finish is long and slightly austere. Approachable now, but up to five years’ aging in the bottle will evolve the dusty tannins into a refined and elegant wine.
